Dear Indy Rebelution Team,

Summer is now in full force and things are heating up on the conference front as well. I praise our Lord for the success He has granted thus far, with over 500 registered! With about 8 weeks left, the “to do” lists are getting longer and the days are moving faster.

God reminded me this week of the necessity of prayer, especially in the busiest times. Late one evening, I sat down to the computer with a long list of things to get completed. "I need to send this e-mail… upload this file… write this letter…" and the list went on. I quickly realized, much to my dismay, that my Internet connection was gone. "Ouch!" I thought to myself. "I have sooo much that has to be done on the computer. Why does this have to happen NOW?" It turned out that an important component had accidentally been fried when a well-meaning sibling was helping to plug it in. The next morning (still without Internet), I pondered why God had allowed that to happen that evening right as I was intending to do some much needed work. As I flipped through one of the books on my desk, my eyes fell on this quote from E.M. Bounds:

“This is not a praying age; it is an age of great activity, of great movements, but one in which the tendency is very strong to stress the seen and the material and to neglect and discount the unseen and the spiritual. Prayer is the greatest of all forces because it honors God and brings Him into active aid.”

As I thought about my schedule and workload the past week, I shamefully admitted that I had also been neglecting my normal prayer time for sake of the tyranny of the urgent. My tendency is to jump right into my “to do” list without first taking the time to pray. Something as insignificant as losing my Internet connection reminded me that there are more important things than just being busy and trying to get things done.

“Be still and know that I am God.”

As we all continue to get busier with the conference details, let us not forget our greatest work – that of coming before our Savior's throne and earnestly petitioning Him for help to accomplish what lies ahead. Without Him, our work is in vain.

“Many persons believe in the efficacy of prayer, but not many pray. Prayer is the easiest and hardest of all things; the simplest and the sublimest; the weakest and the most powerful; its results lie outside the range of human possibilities - they are limited only by the omnipotence of God.” - E.M. Bounds

The countdown is on! As of this hour, we have 8 weeks left (that's 56 days or approximately 1,327 hours if you're counting with me) before the Rebelution hits Indianapolis. Let's get on our knees and pray now.

Prayer

Event Captain Needed. Please continue to pray for God to build our team by providing an event coordinator to handle and delegate responsibilities on the few days surrounding the conference. This job is for someone organized, enthusiastic, and diligent to coordinate specific details. Pray that God would bring the right person forward for this area.

- Pray for the 500+ youth and their parents who have already signed up, that He would give them ears to hear and hearts to receive this message.

- Continue to pray for new youth volunteers both to help with the conference and to spread the word now.

- Keep praying as we continue to contact churches who can help us promote this message.

Praise

-  "I can't thank the Lord enough for the Harris family and all that have any part in this conference. This is like you say, "a vital message." He is calling "His Church" to be "His Church" and not to look like the world. I am in awe at the truth that He is revealing and I know there are others that will be just as thankful... If only I had known this while raising my family... but the next generation can and will change the way the world views the "church." - from Mrs. Patty Martin

- Adrianne Gilbert (our excellent Publicity Captain) shared how God opened up the door for her to have a Rebelution booth ath the Kentucky state homeschool conference. As a result, several contacts were made, including a possible opportunity to spread the word further at a Christian national convention in Indy. Praise the Lord for His continued work through His servants, and keep praying that He will work out the necessary details!

- The website now has over 10 million hits. It ranks 8,000 out of 75 million blogs. Praise the Lord for His hand of blessing.

What else can we pray for together? How have you seen the Lord work? This letter is filled by you. Please e-mail me often with your specific prayer and praise reports to be shared with the Indy team.
